The online entry form is NOW closed for entries.
The online entry deadline was noon EST Sunday, September 7th.
The postmark mailing entry deadline was Saturday, September 6th.

Draft Duration

This Draft runs from September 4th 2008, through December 28th, 2008 of the regular season.
Scoring is retroactive to the opening game Thursday September 4th, Washington at NY Giants.

Reports

All contestants will receive trade forms, rules, and confirmation of entry, which will be mailed no later than September 26th.

Each contestant will receive 4 personal monthly reports, 1 each month.
Each report will include your player points, your team score, your ranking, a list of all player points, and a list of all the winners and their points.

Player and Team Selections:

Select one from each group; you must maintain one selection in each of the 16 groups at all times.
This means when you trade a player, it must be for another player in the same group.

Scoring

Points are awarded to contestants for the performance of their players in games played during the regular NFL season.
This excludes the playoffs and Super Bowl.
Points are awarded in the following categories:

Quarterbacks, Runningbacks, Receivers, Tight Ends and Kickers: Points for passing, rushing and receiving will be rounded to the nearest one-tenth of a point. Examples Below:

240 yards passing = 9.6 points
168 yards rushing = 16.8 points
111 yards receiving = 11.1 points
by rounding the the nearest one-tenth we have yet to have a tie in the top 50 places.

Entry Fee

New Contestant Entry Fees

Contestant's draft entry fees in the US are;
Regular fees are $50 for the first entry and each additional entry from the same contestant are $45 each.
Special discounted entry fees for new contestants.
 $40 for the first entry and each additional entry from the same contestant are $35 each.

  • New contestants that do not have a U.S. mailing address the first entry is $60 in US Funds, and each additional entry is $55 in US Funds.

    Discounted entry fees for previous contestants

    If you have a U.S. mailing address and were a previous contestant from 2000 thru 2007, you qualify for a discounted entry fee as follows:
    • Past contestants from 2007 thru 2008 with a US mailing address;
       Entries posted by noon EST Sunday September 7th; are $30 for the 1st entry and $25 for each additional entry from the same contestant.

    • Past contestants from 2000 thru 2006 with a US mailing address;
       Entries posted by noon EST Sunday September 7th; are $40 for the 1st entry and $35 for each additional entry from the same contestant.

    • If you do not have a U.S. mailing address but were a previous contestant 2000 thru 2007,
       Your discounted entry fee is $50 in US FUNDS for the 1st entry and $45 for each additional entry:
    • If payment is not made by one payment method all entries will be refused.
      The reason for this requirement is the exorbitant amount the banks charge for cashing non-US drawn checks, money orders or credit card charges. As an example - cashing a Canadian bank drawn check or money order costs us $27.62 in US currency! plus the rate of exchange fees.

    • If you are paying with a gift certificate, you must still enter the proper entry fee, select a payment method by mail and then you MUST mail in the gift certificate.

    In addition, for each 5 paid entries you get the 6th entry FREE.

    Gift certificates can NOT be used towards the bonus program of paying for 5 entries with a 6th entry for free.

    Trades

    Each entry will be allowed 16 FREE trades for the season. You may send any number of these 16 trades at any time September 30th through December 17th.

    There are 6 trading periods.
    • September 30-October 4th (Saturday)
    • October 5th-October 18th (Saturday)
    • October 19th-November 1st (Saturday)
    • **November 2nd-November 12th (Wednesday)
    • November 13th-December 3rd (Wednesday)
    • December 4th-December 17th (Wednesday)
      **Indicates a trade period that will activate new players for a 3 week scoring period.
      Notes: The first trade period activates new players on October 5th.
      The first 3 trade deadline periods will end on a Saturday and activate on Sunday the day after the deadline.
      The last 3 trade deadline periods will end on a Wednesday and activate on Thursday the day after the deadline.
      No trading will be allowed after December 17th.

      Our football fantasy draft awards each entry with 16 FREE trades for the season with no additional trades sold.
      This keeps everyone on the same playing field so to speak, as every entry gets 16 trades.

       Watch out for those that offer unlimited trades for purchase, as there will always be someone
      who will out spend you and buy their way into winning a prize.

    New players will be added to the draft.

    One new player will be added to each group. They will be listed on your player list with your first update for September which will be mailed by October 4th. The new player in each group will be listed in the last position in each group and will be eligible to acquire with trades made October 5th-October 18th, which are activated on October 19th. The new players are also eligible to be acquired with trades throughout the remainder of the trade periods for the season.

    No trades will be accepted if postmarked after December 17th. Trades activate the first game after the deadline. Examples: (A trade made in the period from September 30th-October 4th would activate the new player on October 5th.) (A trade made in the period from October 5th -October 18th would activate the new player on October 19th.)

    Trade rules and activation dates will be strictly enforced, so watch carefully that you get your trade form envelopes are postmarked correctly. (metered mail dates will not be honored, only US postal service postmarks accepted) (not responsible for lost, damaged or misdirected mail) Trades mailed on Saturday deadlines MUST be received no later than the next Tuesday to be accepted for that trade period or they will be pushed forward to the next trade period. Trades mailed on Wednesday dealines MUST be received no later than Saturday or they will be pushed forward to the next trade period.
    For trades made by FAX, Email, or on our website trade form, the date/time (until midnight PST on the deadline dates) they were sent will be considered the same as a postmark. Players will accumulate points only while they are held.

    If you lose, destroy or misplace your trade forms, you may send a self addressed stamped envelope to us to replace them. Trade forms filled out incorrectly will be considered invalid and will be notified by mail or email of the invalid trade. You may reaquire an invalid trade by submitting a valid trade during the next or a later trade period. Trade form one is at the bottom of your trade sheet, so start at the bottom and work up.
    *You will receive a mailed acknowledgement of entry, your trade forms and rules before September 26th.

    Notes:

    • There are 16 FREE trades per season, no additional trades may be purchased. We do not believe in allowing additional purchased trades as this would allow contestants to buy an advantage in winning prizes.
    • Trades may be made via the trade form on this Web site or by Email, fax or US mail. When making trades via Email, be sure to include the same information as on your trade forms.
    • No trades will be accepted by phone.
    • Players playing for more than one team or with a team other than listed on the original entry form will receive points they accumulate on any team.
    • This year's fantasy football was not advertised anywhere but the web site and mailings. Due to our print date of June 16th, some players may have retired and will not be replaced. Players playing for more than one team will receive any points they accumulate on any team. No compensation will be made for players injured, put on injured reserve, cut or released; however in these situations you may use a trade to pick up a new player from the same group during any of the specified trade periods.

    Fantasy Football drafts have been provided by Sports Fanatics Player Drafts since 1993. Our fantasy football drafts offer guaranteed prizes, and are not based on entries received. All of our sports draft entry deadlines and trade deadlines are strictly enforced to protect the integrity of our fantasy drafts and you the contestants. All prizes and final updates are mailed to each contestant at no additional charge, and all prizes are mailed within 5 days of the conclusion of each fantasy draft. Each fantasy football draft has its own prizes and unique player selection list. Again, our fantasy football drafts offer guaranteed prizes, and are not based on the number of entries received like many other fantasy sports companies.
